Kirk Buese, CFA
Chief Investment Officer
Kirk Buese, CFA, is the chief investment officer responsible for the firm's investment process and performance, and oversees public and private fixed income portfolio management, alternative funds, and investment and macro research, as well as the firm's global derivatives and hedging operations. In addition, he is a member of the Asset Aegon Management steering committee that sets global macro and asset allocation strategies (global house views) and has responsibility for implementation of those views in the US. He is also a member of the Aegon Asset Management US Executive Committee and Management Board. Prior to joining the firm, Kirk was director of private placements and public bond credit research at Providian, an affiliated company. Earlier still, he was a sales engineer in the Power Systems Division of General Electric Company. He has 32 years of industry experience and has been with the firm and its affiliates since 1987. Kirk received his BS in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University and his MBA from Indiana University. He is a CFA® charterholder. Kirk maintains his Series 3 and 30 with the National Futures Association.
